About Hypnotherapy

What its Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a brief strategic therapy used to help facilitate change within an individual. It involves working with a person's sub-concious mind, this is achieved by working with a client in a trance like state. What is a trance? A trance is an altered state of awareness, it is a state of being deeply relaxed where the individual is aware of what is going on around them but is choosing to relax and so allowing there conscious mind to switch off, which allows their unconscious mind to take over. It has been likened to that of daydreaming.
It is a very restful, calming and relaxing experience, and it is extremely beneficial at reducing stress and anxiety. Some people are concerned that under hypnosis they will loose control and will be controlled by the therapist. This is totally untrue, with hypnotherapy I work to empower the client to help themselves and for them to take control of their issues and make those changes that are beneficial to them.

    As to how many sessions a client would need to address their issues varies and at the initial assessment it would be explained as to how I would work with those issues and how many sessions are likely to be required.

    Confidentiality and safety of all my clients is paramount and I follow and adhere to the NCH code of ethics.
